About Back Porch Swing Jazz

Back Porch Swing Jazz (BPSJ) has been based in Ashland, Oregon since 2003 playing gypsy jazz and vintage jazz of the 1930 and 1940 eras. The acoustic four-piece string band (guitars, bass violin and vocals) delivers a variety of compositions set to swing, jazz waltz and Latin rhythms. The group's repertoire includes a variety of jazz compositions of Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grapelli (Hot Club of France) some of which are sung in French. BPSJ can upsize from its 4-piece ensemble to a 5 or 6-piece (including drums and horn) to match a particular event. The group is well suited for dinners, weddings, wine-tasting events and special gatherings.
